For the GRE Subject test, in Psych specifically, what is considered a good score? What number or percentile do they recommend you submit your scores for?

So...how'd everyone do?

I took the Lit GRE this morning and actually left feeling fairly confident. I could definitely tell my studying paid off. Mostly, I'm just glad to have it over!

Does anyone who's been through this process have any good tips for studying for the GRE Subject Test in English. I am a bit nervous right now because, while I have strong general scores (730 verbal, 5.5 on the writing), all the practice tests I have done for the subject test have not come out well. I'll be applying to phd programs in the biological sciences this year and a couple of the programs highly recommend a gre subject exam in either biology or psychology. Based on where I'm at now, I think I could do well on the psych exam, but bio would require a lot of studying for me because it seems tougher. And I have a couple sub-optimal grades ( Read more... )

My GRE subject scores in English Literature are abysmal. There is an extremely good reason for them being so low- the week of the test there was an emergency at work- which happens to correspond to the topics I want to pursue in a graduate program- that required my full attention. When did the October subject test people get their scores in the mail? I don't wait to pay them $12 just for peace of mind, because I think I did crappy anyway. I am just curious if I'll still be here, or gone for break, when it comes.

Edit: I took the test in November, so I was wondering how long it took for the October people.
